Opened on April Fools' Day, 1999.
Emma opened Barnetts on the 1st of April, 1999 — and we've been cutting hair on Old Guildford Road ever since.
What started as one chair has grown into a much-loved local fixture. Emma's daughter, George, later joined her behind the chair, and Nicki has been part of the team for 18 years — fitting work in around raising a big family of her own. Between them, they've cut hair for whole families: grandads, dads and sons all in the same week.
We're known for a friendly, easy-going atmosphere and for being patient with children — including those with additional needs (SEND). No appointments, no waiting lists, and free street parking right outside. Just walk in, take a seat, and we'll take care of the rest.
